NCIDC Mini-Grants Program 2019/2020

The Northern California Indian Development Council has announced today the beginning of a new age for the spirit of the Intertribal Gathering and Elders Dinner. The NCIDC is transforming this historical event into support for smaller regional events.  

The NCIDC is developing a grant opportunity to fund local tribal events in Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity and Siskiyou counties. It is anticipated that eligible applicants will be a Tribe, or Native American non-profit organization hosting an appropriate Native American community event with cultural and informational outreach components, located in Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity or Siskiyou counties. Details are available in the Request for Proposals which is now available.

Northern California Indian Development Council, Inc. (NCIDC), a non-profit Corporation, is recruiting for an Education Coordinator in Crescent City, CA. Applicants must have two years of practical experience in a position which demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities with an understanding of education programs, child development and Native American education programs; California Driver’s License (DMV record required); Insurable driver (proof required); Pass finger print background checks and Negative T.B. test. Compensation: $18.00 per hour non-exempt. Under the supervision of the Northern California Indian Development Council’s (NCIDC) Operations Coordinator, the Del Norte Indian Education Center (DNIEC) Coordinator has responsibility for the administration of the DNIEC funded by the California State Department of Education.  Native American Preference Applies per P.L. 93-638.

NCIDC Council Meeting Agenda—November 2019

Monthly meetings of the Council (Board of Directors) of the Northern California Indian Development Council, Inc. (NCIDC) occur on the second Friday of each month in the Council Chambers at the NCIDC Eureka, California office located at 517 5th Street starting at 1:00 pm. The public is welcome. Support requests and other agenda items must be submitted at least one week in advance of the meeting.

NCIDC is committed to giving any support we can in this time of crisis so we will continue our work providing services to eligible low-income Native Americans (this can include emergency rental assistance, food costs, cleaning supplies, and other emergency expenses). We are also working on setting up employment assistance for those of you who were laid off due to COVID-19.
 
However, we will be temporarily restricting public access to all of our offices in the interest of preserving the health of both our clients and staff members. Staff will work with clients over the phone and through email and only conduct in-person intakes as needed on a case-by-case basis. Please DO NOT come to our office without an appointment.
