Assistant Director

Applicants applying for the Assistant Director position should have knowledge of Federal, State, Tribal and local laws and regulations pertaining to NCIDC.  Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Pubic Administration or related field and a minimum of three years’ experience in planning and operational responsibilities for service delivery program(s). A minimum of one-year supervisor experience or administrative experience is required.  Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to conduct web-based research are necessary skills. Incumbent must be able to travel to sites in California and out of state as needed. Candidate must have the ability to develop funding and administrative policies and procedures, and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.  Native American Preference Applies per P.L. 93-638.

Indigenous Education Advocate

Applicants interested in applying for the Indigenous Education Advocate need at least 1-2 years of professional or other experience in a relevant field, such as organizing, tribal government, policy-advocacy, the non-profit or legal services sector, or education sector. An understanding of unique issues facing Indigenous people and Native Americans in Northern California, familiarity with current Indigenous movements, and passionate desire to advocate for the rights of indigenous peoples and affect make change in this region. Strong computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to conduct web-based research are necessary skills. Native American Preference Applies per P.L. 93-638.

Program Coordinator—Del Norte Indian Education Center, Crescent City, CA

Northern California Indian Development Council, Inc. (NCIDC), a non-profit Corporation, is recruiting for an Education Coordinator in Crescent City, CA. Applicants must have two years of practical experience in a position which demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities with an understanding of education programs, child development and Native American education programs; California Driver’s License (DMV record required); Insurable driver (proof required); Pass finger print background checks and Negative T.B. test. Compensation: $18.00 per hour non-exempt. Under the supervision of the Northern California Indian Development Council’s (NCIDC) Operations Coordinator, the Del Norte Indian Education Center (DNIEC) Coordinator has responsibility for the administration of the DNIEC funded by the California State Department of Education.  Native American Preference Applies per P.L. 93-638.
