Position: Administrative Assistant I

                                                                                    

Compensation: Minimum Wage-Commensurate with Experience

 

Supervisor: Executive Assistant 

 

Job Site Location: Eureka, CA

 

REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a high school diploma and at least one year of secretarial/clerical work experience. Must possess the ability to type 45-50 words per minute. Must have experience in the operation of basic business machines and ability to learn computer operations. The Administrative Assistant must adapt to routine, follow instructions, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Executive Assistant, the Administrative Assistant I will perform a variety of typing and general clerical duties including: typing forms, letters, reports, bulletins and memos, and maintaining the filing systems. 

 

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for logging in, sorting and distributing all incoming mail; and, logging, applying correct postage and Certified Mail receipts, and mailing all outgoing mail. 

 

The Administrative Assistant must use diplomacy and tact in dealing with people, greet visitors, and provide relief for the receptionist when necessary.

 

The Administrative Assistant will perform other related duties as assigned.

Position: Receptionist

                                                

Compensation: Commensurate with Experience

 

Supervisor: Executive Assistant

 

Job Site Location: Eureka, CA

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must be Workforce Investment Act (WIA) eligible and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicant must possess the ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute; follow oral and written instructions, and complete work assignments with minimum supervision. The applicant must have satisfactory communication skills to tactfully deal with staff, government representatives, program participants and the general public; and must respect confidentiality. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer incoming calls with multi-line phone system and route calls to appropriate staff, accurately record and deliver messages to appropriate staff, log outgoing mail and use electronic postage machine. Greet public, clients, and guests and refer them to the appropriate staff. Maintain the sign-in/sign-out register and other duties as identified. Applicant will perform basic clerical duties such as data entry, file set-up, research, information and referral, and other duties as identified.
