The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting thousands of people across the country to assist with the 2020 Census count. Temporary jobs available include census takers, recruiting assistants, office staff, and supervisory staff. Positions for the 2020 Census are located throughout the United States. To be eligible, one must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Social Security number, and be a U.S. citizen. Applicants must complete an online job application—2020census.gov/jobs. The application includes assessment questions about one’s education, work and other experience and the process takes about 30 minutes. Applicants need to provide Social Security number, home address, phone number, and date and place of birth. Veterans who are claiming preference will need to submit documentation of eligibility. #census2020 #NativePeopleCount
One of NCIDC's primary and specific purposes is the conservation and preservation of historic and archeological sites and resources.
In 1986 NCIDC purchased the Carson Block Building. The historically significant Carson Block Building was built in 1892, over 100 years ago, by William Carson (of Carson Mansion fame). It contained the Ingomar Theater, one of the most ornate theaters of its time on the West Coast
NCIDC, in conjunction with a large group of private and public financing entities, completed the restoration of the historic structure facade as well as sesmic retrofit for this beautiful building in 2016 and the building is now open and in operation.
